How did I do my research for this article?

I taped the following to the doors of the 46 girls on my floor here at Indiana University:

     “pudge”                “pudge”                 “poodge”                “muscle”               “skinny”

The Poodge (p j) / Pudge (p j) Debate!

Hey ladies! This is a very informal survey I’m doing (for a joke more than anything) to get your opinion on male body types…

For Clarification Purposes:
For the purposes of this survey,
-pudge is defined as enough body fat to overflow the pants line and make “love handles.” The bulge of the stomach can be slightly seen with a shirt on.**
-poodge is defined as a very slight overflow over the pants line, a “bike tire” as opposed to a “spare tire,” if you will. The bulge would not be seen with a shirt on. -muscle is defined as someone very toned and athletically muscular.
-skinny is defined as someone with neither muscle nor fat, but a flat, “skinny” stomach area. Ribs may or may not be seen.
** Please note the only photo I could find of this are not particularly flattering, as pudge is generally looked down upon by the media and Hollywood today.

Now ladies, I contend that a guy with pudge is in some cases quite attractive. However, as women we are expected to lust after men who are muscular and toned. I understand there are more important aspects to men than simply their physical body type, but for the purposes of this survey, lets assume these men all share the same personality. So…

Based solely on body type, would you prefer to date someone who is

     A)   pudgy
B)    poodgy
C)   muscular
D)   skinny

Please return your anonymous completed form to room 227- there’s an envelope on the door! Thank you for your time! J
Anonymous results will be posted on www.acwagner.iwarp.com

Of the 46 surveys distributed, I received 28 replies.

* please do not point out all the confounds that exist in this un-official survey, I know there are plenty, it's all in good fun, people. *
